1. Open Day & Movie Night at Days Mill
Days Mill is a historic flour mill at Murchison. On the 14th of January 2022 their doors will open to host a free screening of the classic Australian tale ‘Red Dog: True Blue’. Before the event, guests will have the opportunity to explore the 150+ year old flour mill, farm and homestead. What’s more, there will also be some kids activities on offer. Once the movie kicks off, it’s time to bring out the chairs, blankets and picnic food. Plus, food, coffee and ice cream will be available throughout the afternoon.
2. The Shepparton Albanian Harvest Festival
One of the most unique events in Shepparton is the infamous Albanian Harvest Festival. Held annually in March, at this lively event you’ll experience Albanian culture in the form of folk dancing, a band and DJ, a market, BBQ, drinks and much more! Supported by the Shepparton Albanian Women’s Committee, this family-friendly festival provides plenty of entertainment for the family.
3. Catch a show
In Shepparton in 2022, you’ll find plenty of shows and musical events to attend. Why not try Lloyd Webber & The Great Composers – An Afternoon Delight on March 16th? Featuring over 20 hit songs from Lloyd Webber, Elton John, Tim Rice and many more and songs from Cats, Phantom, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, The Lion King and many more will be performed! If you’d rather see a musical, book tickets for Chicago. From the 20th until the 22nd of January don’t miss this performance from Initial Stages. Alternatively, try the music and dance sensation A Taste of Ireland.
4. Goulburn Valley Country Music Festival
On April 10th 2022, Goulburn Valley Country Music Festival takes place. Featuring some of the country’s best country musicians, this is an event worth the trip. Sit back, relax with a cold beer and listen to some country music for a weekend. This event is available for kids and people of all ages.
5. Learn to Shred Shepparton
Taking the kids to Shepparton this summer season? Why not try something completely new and treat the kids to a skateboarding workshop? Shredability has Skate Lessons coming up at Shepparton Skatepark, as part of the Activities in the Park Program, thanks to Greater Shepparton Council. It’s a great way for the kids to learn a new sport and get some fresh air. Allow the kids a one hour skateboarding lesson facilitated by former world champion, and Olympic skateboard judge, Renton Millar. Come along on the 13th of January 2022 and give it a go!
