Whether you’re a novice or professional cyclist, the Barossa offers everything from scenic tracks to challenging cross-country trails. For those looking to venture out on their own, there are a number of bike hire facilities throughout the region such as Barossa Bike Hire. A variety of tracks throughout the Barossa take visitors past an abundance of cellar doors and picnic spots where cyclists can also expect to see kangaroos, parrots, echidnas and other native wildlife. Alternatively, there are a number of companies now offering guided tours, combining food and wine tasting and some gentle cycling.
The latest addition for cycling enthusiasts is the Barossa Cycling Hub situated in Tanunda. The hub is the start and finish of a 40km sealed bike path which takes cyclists through the picturesque Barossa Valley, it is a great way to get out and see the sights. Along the path cyclists will pedal past noteable wineries such as Grant Burge, Jacob’s Creek, Rockford and Penfolds for those looking to sample the famous local wines.
There is no better way to explore the Barossa’s premium wine, fresh produce and stunning scenery than by bike.
