Peppers Clare Valley: A New Name, A New Dining Experience
3rd November 2026
The much-loved Clare Country Club has a new name, a fresh look and a brand-new restaurant, and it’s given us the best excuse yet to plan a weekend in the Clare Valley.
Officially relaunched as Peppers Clare Valley on 30 October 2026, the property welcomes the Peppers brand alongside refreshed guest spaces and the opening of Clara, a new restaurant celebrating the best of South Australian produce.
A New Chapter for Peppers Clare Valley
For years, Clare Country Club has been the familiar choice for a Clare Valley getaway. Now, it’s stepping into a new chapter as Peppers Clare Valley, joining Accor’s collection of Peppers hotels and resorts, a brand known for memorable destinations, authentic local experiences and warm hospitality.
The rebrand is backed by significant investment in the property, with updates designed to enhance the guest experience and showcase the best of the region. While the guest rooms had already undergone renovations, the latest improvements include a welcoming new lounge, updated reception, a brand new restaurant, refreshed grounds and enhancements around the swimming pool.
Together, these updates bring a fresh look to the property’s established country setting, combining relaxed hospitality with the signature Peppers experience.
Meet Clara: A New Dining Destination
Adding to the excitement is Clara, the property’s new restaurant overlooking Lake Inchiquin.
Welcoming hotel guests, locals and visitors, Clara offers a fresh dining experience centred on seasonal South Australian produce, regional flavours and thoughtful sourcing. The approach is refined without feeling overly formal, creating a relaxed setting for everything from a special dinner to an enjoyable evening out.
Leading the kitchen is Head Chef Matthew Sanderson, whose experience includes the hatted restaurant Cavau in Wollongong, as well as senior culinary roles at Orpheus Island Lodge and Lizard Island Resort.
At Clara, Matthew works closely with local farmers, growers and producers, allowing quality ingredients to take centre stage. The menu celebrates the best of South Australia’s food landscape, with regional favourites including Clare Valley sourdough and lamb, Spencer Gulf crab and South Australian octopus.
Other highlights include yellowtail kingfish and a Riverine beef tomahawk, complemented by a selection of Clare Valley wines and premium South Australian beverages.
With its lakeside outlook and focus on local produce, Clara is an exciting addition to Peppers Clare Valley.
