If you’re staying in Traralgon or nearby, there are plenty of opportunities to taste what the region is brewing up.

Glenmaggie Wines

The modern cellar door at Glenmaggie Wines will make you feel like you’ve made a stop in the Hunter Valley. A small, family-owned vineyard about 40 minutes away from Traralgon, this winery with award-winning products produces estate-grown wines like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Tastings are available at the cellar door and tasty food platters are served on the deck overlooking the idyllic vineyard.

Bellvale Wine

Bellvale Wine is a small and boutique Gippsland winery known for its estate wines including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Shiraz. The vineyard focuses on cool-climate varieties and offers cellar door tastings in a rural setting not far from Traralgon. Just make sure you book an appointment before you go!

Narkoojee Winery

One of Gippsland’s most well-known wineries, located about 20 minutes north of Traralgon, Narkoojee Winery is all about cool-climate wines including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. Starting out as a dairy farm in the 1940s, the winery now has a fantastic cellar door experience, offering tasting flights. There’s also a restaurant on site, serving dishes made from local produce and celebrating Gippsland.

Blue Gables

In nearby Maffra, a visit to Blue Gables Winery provides you with a relaxed country setting for tasting unique Gippsland wines. The family-run vineyard produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Shiraz, with a welcoming cellar door where visitors can sample the range while looking out across the sweeping vines.

Good Land Brewing Co.

In the centre of Traralgon, Good Land Brewing Co. brings Gippsland craft beer right into town. Founded by a group of local mates with a love for brewing, the venue produces small-batch beers on site and pairs them with pizzas, pretzels, wings and share plates in a lively taproom that’s become a super popular local hangout!

Bandolier Brewing

Bandolier Brewing sits a little further from Traralgon in the village of Warragul, but it makes a great stop if you’re heading back toward Melbourne after a weekend away. The small brewery pours a rotating lineup of small-batch craft beers making it an easy place to stop for a chilled drink on the drive home.
