1. Granite Island

A must see when visiting Victor Harbor is Granite Island. The island is connected to the mainland by a 630-metre-long causeway which you can stroll across (you can also enjoy a ride on the horse drawn tram!). Whilst visiting, make sure you keep a look out for the fairy penguins which inhabit the island. The penguins are one of the smallest breeds in the world and can usually be spotted at dusk.

2. Oceanic Victor

Get up close and personal with marine life in their natural habitat. This is a fantastic day out for all the family. Oceanic Victor is an in-sea Aquarium which allows you to swim with hundreds of sea creatures and even feed Bluefin Tuna. If you prefer to stay dry there is also an underwater observatory where you can take in all the action.

3. South Australia Whale Centre

If you are looking for places to visit in Victor Harbor to entertain the kids, then the SA Whale Centre is the place for you. The centre offers interactive exhibits set over three floors, guiding you through the history and nature of these magnificent creatures. There is also a kid’s zone play area for the little ones to enjoy.

4. Encounter Bikeway Trail

A great way to explore Victor Harbor is to ride the encounter bikeway trail. The entire trail is 31km one way, connecting you to the neighbouring towns of Port Elliot, Middletown and Goolwa. Whether you do the whole trip or just a short ride along the coast of Victor Harbor you will discover stunning scenery along the way.

5. Urimbirra Wildlife Park

Another one of the top places to visit in Victor Harbor is the Urimbirra Wildlife Park. The park has over 400 Australian native animals and they offer several interactive experiences including feeding kangaroos and emus and even patting a koala. You can also bring a picnic or use their on-site BBQ and eat amongst the wildlife.

6. Seal Island

Take a boat tour to Seal Island where you will find long nosed fur seals and Australian sea lions. This ocean adventure will allow you to see Granite Island and Victor Harbor from a spectacular perspective on the water. You may even be lucky enough to spot bottlenose dolphins who often like to race the boat!

7. Cockle Train

One of the most historic places to visit in Victor Harbor is the oldest steel railway in Australia, where you can take a ride aboard the Cockle train. The railway line runs between Goolwa and Victor Harbor and provides the perfect way to view some of the most picturesque scenery of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

8. Parsons Beach
